USA TODAY has nominated Alabama’s Lake Martin to its 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards in the category of Best Lake for Water Sports. The category takes into account lakes scattered throughout the country and specifically focuses on those that offer premium boating, fishing, paddling, and lakeside recreation.
“We are thrilled to be nominated as one of the best lakes in the country for water sports,” said Sandra Fuller, President/CEO of Explore Lake Martin. “This recognition reflects the vibrant community, natural beauty, and recreational culture that make Lake Martin a one-of-a-kind experience for locals and visitors alike.”
Lake Martin, located in central Alabama, consists of 44,000 acres with 880 miles of shoreline. It’s the largest shoreline of any man-made lake in the state.
