A community clean-up is scheduled for this weekend in Alexander City. Participants are being asked to meet up at Strand Park beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

To add some fun to the cleanup, those taking part can form teams to compete for monetary prizes. Teams must be nonprofit organizations to participate. Each team will be awarded points for every member of their crew and every bag of trash collected. The team with the most points at the end of the Clean Up Day will take home the $500 top prize. Second place will claim $300 while the third place team will be awarded $200.

The event concludes at 10:30 a.m. Volunteers are needed.
