Boaters in the Lake Martin area interested in cruising and racing sailboats are invited to join a local organization that promotes both activities.

The Dixie Sailing Club with roughly sixty to eighty members has four one-design fleets that race most weekends during the year. They are the Catalina 22, Flying Scot, Thistle, and MC Scow. The organization is the home of the Catalina 22 Fleet 96 featuring 25 boats. The Catalina fleet includes a two-time Gold Fleet National Champion racer.

DSC maintains a yearly schedule of club races, special races such as long-distance races, regattas, cruising activities, and special events. The racing program provides a means for sailors to sharpen their sailing skills, enjoy a competitive sailing environment, and build camaraderie between club members.

There is also an overall Handicap Fleet based on the Portsmouth Yardstick.

The cruising activities are open to all boats and include both day cruises and overnight cruises.

Club races take place every weekend normally on Saturdays from March until November.
